An “Out of Order” sign has been temporarily placed at both ends of Sunset Beach access stairs (located on the right towards the far end of Campbells Way) pending repairs scheduled as soon as possible. Replacement of these wooden stairs with metal ones is planned for later this summer.
This decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution” based on an inspection of the stairs following safety and liability concerns brought to the attention of the HOA from a concerned Sunset Dunes property owner.
Maintenance repairs to Lila’s Beachwalk (located on the right side of Campbells Way closer to the entrance of the Sunset Dunes subdivision) are also scheduled to begin as soon as possible. The scope of this work will include the replacement of some boards to both the wooden walkway and beach access stairs which are loose or rotten. It is hoped that these maintenance repairs can proceed without too much disruption or temporary closure of Lila’s Beachwalk.
The installation of an additional set of beach access stairs (donated to the HOA by the Kemps) overlooking Provoast Cove towards the southeast near the Campbells Way turnaround is also planned for later this summer once permitting requirements have been met.
